About Us

The Society was formed in 1966 by a small group of enthusiasts to provide responsible dog training in the Aylesbury area. The society was officially inaugurated in February 1967 and has continued to flourish ever since, largely due to the enthusiasm and dedication shown by the members. We are a Kennel Club registered society.

Our officials and instructors give their time and services voluntarily; their reward being the satisfaction of running a successful society. Although our Instructors mostly have long experience of handling dogs, we cannot advise on veterinary matters. We are an all–breeds society, and over the years many unusual breeds have passed through our hands.

The Society has three main sections, each of which you can access from the menu on the left of every page. Members’ dogs must be competent in basic control before joining any of the three sections, and to this end we run eight week Starter Courses.

Our Instructors are always present at the hall on Wednesday evenings and will be only too happy to answer any questions you may have on dog–training related problems.

Many of our members compete on a regular basis with their dogs in Obedience, Working Trials and Agility, in all parts of the country. Between them they have won many awards, and some of our more senior members also regularly judge at shows. The society has previously run its own agility shows and working trials and with the help of some committed members continues to run an annual Kennel Club Open Obedience Show.

On an occasional basis we have visiting speakers on various topics, which in the past have included new training methods and canine first aid.
